China Boasts 600,000 Websites

The Chinese mainland had 600,000 websites by the end of last year, an increase of 60 percent year-on-year. And there are nearly 80 million netizens in China.
According to the latest national survey of China's Internet information resources, the country's network development is booming, but there is a great imbalance between the urban and rural areas.
The east, north and south are home to 90 percent of China's websites, while the networks in western China are developing relatively slowly.
Moreover, the network information quality needs improving.
